About 

Ellie McCann is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who plays a diverse range of self penned, traditional and instrumental music on banjo, mandolin and guitar, producing a creative and fresh folk sound.

 

Hailing from Bedfordshire, Ellie started gigging at the age of 11 in the band The McCann Sisters, with her younger sister where they quickly gained a backing in the home counties. Since then, Ellie has developed her sound and is in the bands Burdock and Little Gidding, both of which have been making waves on the folk scene. Burdock was a New Roots finalist in 2019 and has since made their festival debut at Sidmouth Folk Week, support acts such as Julie Felix and are in the currently recording their first EP. Little Gidding have built up a strong following on the London folk circuit and have played a sold out gigs at Greennote and The Harrison.

Along with being in various bands and projects, Ellie is now focusing on her individual act and is set to release her first EP in January 2020.
